Sigiriya Rock Fortress (20 min)

Rising majestically from the plains, Sigiriya — the legendary Lion Rock — stands as one of Asia’s greatest archaeological marvels. This UNESCO World Heritage site was once a royal citadel built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century.
As you climb the stone stairways flanked by frescoes of celestial maidens, each turn reveals breathtaking panoramas of forests, lakes, and distant hills. Explore the Water Gardens, Mirror Wall, and Summit Palace, where nature and human ingenuity blend seamlessly. Sigiriya is not just a monument — it’s a journey through myth, artistry, and awe.

Dambulla Cave Temples (25 min)

A sanctuary of peace and devotion, Dambulla Cave Temple — also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla — is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Within its five ancient chambers, over 150 Buddha statues and vivid ceiling murals narrate stories of faith and enlightenment spanning more than 2,000 years.
The gentle flicker of oil lamps and the cool air inside the caves create an atmosphere of sacred stillness. From the temple’s hilltop perch, guests can gaze across the sweeping landscapes of the Cultural Triangle, a view as humbling as it is breathtaking.

Polonnaruwa Ancient City (1 hr)

Step into Sri Lanka’s medieval past at Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage city that once served as the island’s royal capital. Wander among stone palaces, intricately carved moonstones, and colossal Buddha statues that reflect a golden era of art, religion, and architecture.
Explore the Gal Vihara, where serene stone Buddhas rest beneath the open sky, and the Royal Palace complex, echoing with the grace of ancient craftsmanship. Polonnaruwa is not just a site to visit — it’s an experience that transports you to the heart of an empire built on culture, balance, and spiritual depth.

Kaludiya Pokuna Forest Reserve (15 min)

Guests can enjoy guided nature walks with our naturalists, spotting vibrant birdlife, butterflies, and the occasional toque macaque among the trees. The serene ponds and ancient monastic remnants evoke a deep sense of peace — an ideal escape for those who seek reflection amid nature’s quiet rhythm.

Hiriwadunna Village (10 min)

Immerse yourself in the charm of Hiriwadunna Village, a living portrait of rural Sri Lankan life. Begin your experience with a bullock cart ride through paddy fields, followed by a gentle canoe trip across the lotus-dotted lake.
At the village, you’ll be welcomed into a traditional mud house, where you can help prepare authentic Sri Lankan meals cooked over wood fires. Interact with locals, learn about farming, and witness how simplicity and hospitality thrive in perfect harmony with nature.
It’s an experience that embodies Aara’s philosophy — authentic, sustainable, and deeply human.
